There are different ways to go about restoring art. Things like type of canvas, paints and period styles all factor into the proper procedure to use when restoring. Oh, and maybe talent is also needed? Apparently, the well meaning Catholic parishioner from the Northern Spanish town of Borja had little training in the art of restoration when she took on the project. The artistic motif which depicts Jesus before his crucifixion was severely altered when it came back to hang in its 100 year old spot. Before you restore, please talk to a restoration specialists.
