Angles on Art & Framing

Last summer vacation what did you bring back to remember it by, a coffee mug, a trinket or t-shirt, perhaps a sunburn? You can relive vacation memories without boring your friends and family to tears by having a shadow box memorializing it. Basically shadow boxes are used to frame three dimensional things like baseballs, wedding dresses, swords and memorabilia-you get the picture.
This summer bring back shells and sand from the beach, some tickets to shows, bottle caps and of course pictures to make a shadow box framing of your trip. Maybe you set out from Oviedo and visited an iconic place like the Grand Canyon and you have some rocks you picked up, they make great shadow box items. Save your plane or train tickets and add them too. Did you see a great show or go to a summer ballgame? Anything that can enhance pictures or art and maybe has a little story behind it makes a good item to include.
One couple from the Casselberry and Maitland area brought back tickets from a Cirque de Soleil show and some casino chips as well as lucky dice they used on their trip to Las Vegas. Another time someone from Winter Park found items like old hotel keys, rocks from a volcanic ruin and a sea fan including them along with pictures and postcards to tell a story of a wonderful summer affair.
Whatever speaks to you should be included and if you hang them in the entry way of your home it makes for great conversation with guests. So this summer while you are making memories out there, bring some things back home so you can create your one of a kind shadow box containing unlimited memories.
